Identity Structure Analysis
ISA underpins all of our products aimed at recruitment, personal development and organisational development. Our approach includes highly sophisticated techniques for analysing how the individual identifies with others in the workplace and with the organisation itself. Many of our products are fully automated and accessed via highly robust online assessment platforms but we also undertake bespoke product development and research projects with partners, for example in exploring corporate cultures or barriers to change.
As well as other methods, such as ethnographic, community projects use the Identity Structure Analysis (ISA) conceptualisation of identity processes, which prioritises the differing value and belief systems that individuals hold, especially as these are influenced by different cultural contexts in multi-cultural societies. Identity instruments are customised in the language of the participants in a study and take into account issues of greatest salience to them, so that people's identifications with others may be assessed in their own terms. For practical investigations ISA is facilitated by the Ipseus software.
Research projects of the kind spearheaded by University researchers use the Identity Structure Analysis (ISA) conceptualisation of identity processes for undergraduate final year projects, postgraduate MSc and PhD dissertations, and collaborative projects by professional academic staff. Individual case study analyses of people's identifications with various agents and institutions may be assessed cross-culturally with identity instruments customised in the language of the participants, taking into account differing value and belief systems. Standardisation procedures enable comparisons to be made across groups and individuals using differing customisations. For practical investigations ISA is facilitated by the Ipseus software.
